Research Engineer: Opto-Electronics

Our Research and Development team is adding a Research Engineer to assist with new product development. This position requires an experienced opto-electronics engineer to work with our team to develop a micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) thermopile array and transfer the design to volume production.

The Research Engineer will perform development and engineering duties for analysis, implementation and testing of state-of-the-art, thermopile-based infrared systems used in radiometry. This position will help with designs for which there is little precedent. This person must be flexible, independent, creative, and experienced.

Requirements
o Must have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or physics. Master’s degree in electrical engineering or physics preferred. Preferred disciplines include: radiation engineering, electro-optical or photonics.
o Must have at least five years of Opto-Electronics experience at the design, development, test, and product level. Experience must include analog/digital circuit design and troubleshooting and low level signal conditioning. Must have I2C and SMB communication protocol knowledge.
o Prefer at least three years experience with infrared detection, infrared spectroscopy, and gas analysis.
o Must be proficient in National Instruments LabView code development and data acquisition. Must be experienced with Visual Basic code development.
o Must have experience using CAD drawings. Must be proficient with Microsoft office.
o Previous experience in MEMS at the wafer, packaging and test level is strongly preferred.
o US citizenship or green card required per government contract.
