Thermopile Products
Since 1977 Dexter Research has been a leader in the manufacture of high quality, high output thin film Bismuth-Antimony and cost-efficient silicon-based radiation sensing thermopile detectors. As the pioneer in the industry Dexter Research has developed a cost-effective approach that doesn’t sacrifice quality. Our detectors offer a flat spectral response from the ultraviolet to the far infrared and no 1/f or microphonic noise, only the Johnson noise of its resistance. We test 100% of our products providing you with superior detector performance and subsequent superior system performance.
Background information: For more general information on how thermopiles work and background on the different types and uses of thermopiles, please see our white paper “Introduction to Thermopile Detectors ” (PDF)
Selection Guide: Dexter Research Center provides the widest selection of thermopiles in the industry. We offer over 30 detector models grouped by single-channel, multi-channel, and imaging arrays (see complete list to the left). Most of our thermopiles may be thermally compensated to minimize the effect of sudden changes in ambient temperature. See our Selection Guide for assistance in selecting a thermopile based on the intended application, possible configurations, or functional specification.
Customization: We specializes in the providing our customers with thermopile detectors that meet their exact specifications. See the Thermopile Options page for a description of the various standard options and configurations, or review our comprehensive Services for designing, customizing and calibrating detectors.
Development Tools: Thermopile application designers will appreciate the how easy it is to use our various Development Tools including our Low Noise Amplifier or our Miniature Amplifier PCB with convenient buffering and pre-amplification of thermopile signal together with on-board temperature sensor and voltage reference.
Technical Library: For more detailed information on integrating thermopiles into your application see our complete Technical Library.
