Dexter Research Unveils ST120 and Surface Mount Package At 2006 Sensors Expo
Dexter Research Center, Inc. has once again chosen the Sensors Expo and Conference, June 5-7, to unveil its latest products, the ST120 and its Surface Mount Package. The event has attracted more than 40 additional exhibitors over last year.

The ST120 Four-Channel Silicon Thermopile
“The ST120 offers a high output detector in a small, silicon-based chip,” says Robert Toth, Jr, president of Dexter Research. “It was developed with Dexter Research’s industry-leading internal optimization program. As a result, the ST120 will outperform any competitor with the same active area.
“Our new device is available in a TO-18 or surface mount package and is well suited to multi element applications,” Dexter Research’s president continues. “I predict that the ST120 will rapidly become the preferred detector for gas analysis.”
Dexter Research is positioning its new Surface Mount Package, or Flat Pak, as the world’s best surface mount thermopile. It houses the company’s ST60 and its new ST120, transferring thermopile technology and performance to surface mount requirements.

The new Surface Mount also has other competitive advantages, explains Dexter Research president. “It allows for a lower profile than standard TO-5 packaging and offers and easily adjusted field of view,” Rob says. “It’s available with many of Dexter’s filter options and is ideal for today’s automated pick and place.”
A volume manufacturer as well as an R&D center, Dexter Research will display the ST120 and Surface Mount Package, along with its 30 other proven models at Booth #811 at the 2006 Sensors Expo. Also on Dexter Research’s presentation agenda will be “New Opportunities To Collaborate” around signal processing, front-end solutions, plug and play solutions and modules.
Last year, at the Sensors Expo and Conference in Chicago’s McCormick Place, Dexter Research unveiled its ST60 Micro, the world’s smallest thermopile detector, and the AXT 100 Thermal Imaging Camera developed by Ann Arbor Sensor Systems.
Dexter Research has added 62 new customers since last year’s Sensor Expo and experienced record growth in sales revenues.
Reversing a trend away from trade show exhibitions that followed the 9/11 attacks, the 2006 Sensors Expo at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Il, near Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, will be even larger than last year. The leading event in North America focused exclusively on sensors and sensor-integrated systems 2006 marks the event’s 20th anniversary of the Sensors Expo & Conference.
