Infrared Thermopile Detectors – Specialty Items
Thermopile Development Tools
Miniature Amplifier PCB –Sized for single channel TO-5 packages and electrically compatible with all Dexter Research Center detectors. Available in three amplifier gains: 300, 500 and 1,000 providing convenient buffering and pre-amplification of thermopile signal. Facilitates fast R&D startup time that can be integrated into your prototypes or final system design.
1010 Low Noise Amplifier – A low noise, DC-coupled amplifier is packaged in a rugged, die-cast aluminum case with BNC connectors enabling input and output. Provides very low voltage noise and current noise in the critical region of 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz making this the ideal amplifier for thermopile detectors in sensitive systems design and laboratory experiments.
Thermacon Motion Sensors
Concealed Passive Infrared Motion Sensor
A concealed passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor that detects the presence of natural body heat and activates a relay. Relay activation begins when the detection area is entered and remains on for the duration of the preset relay timing. The unit is designed for concealed and easy installation in suspended ceilings. Four interchangeable detection patterns are standard with each unit. Units accept a power supply range of 12 to 24 volts AC or DC
There are three different models of Thermacon:
Thermacon T-90 UL Listed – The housing is an Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) 94-HB fire rated ABS plastic, coated with aluminum to protect against radio frequency interference. Also see the T-90 Datasheet (PDF).
Thermacon T-80 and S-80 –These units are designed for easy concealed installation in suspended ceilings or on an enclosed metal electrical box is acceptable for use in air handling areas. In addition to the four standard interchangeable detection patterns, others may be custom made.
The T-80 activates both when someone enters the detection area and again at exit and is used for access control and other motion detection where multiple alarms are acceptable or where people may pause for long periods within the detection area before exiting.
The S-80 activates only when the detection area is entered and ignores exits from the detection area. The S-80 is used for annunciation in offices or classrooms where short single alarms are desired.
See also the T-80/S-80 Datasheet (PDF).
Usage Notes: The Thermacon is not recommended where slow movement or an attempt to conceal passage through the detection area may occur; this may result in impaired operation of the Thermacon. Consult with Dexter Research Center before Thermacon installation in critical security applications. The Thermacon is not for Intrusion, Burglar Control, or for use with Panic Devices.
Integrated Temperature Measurement Solutions
Infrared Temperature Module (Future product) – makes non-contact infrared temperature measurements and delivers a radiometrically-calibrated output. Great for consumer appliances, copiers and printers, industrial and residential HVAC, human presence detections, SARS screening, Tympanic ear thermometer and industrial process control.
